Flexible Intermediate Bulk Container PDF Print E-mail

The most commonly used FIBC for packaging of bulk powders, powdered ingredients, grains, pellets etc. is the ‘bulk bag’. This container may identified by many other names. Typically these bags are designed to hold (2,000 lbs. U.S. ton-2,200# metric ton) of most powdered materials and are single use, one way shipping containers. A variety of types and sizes are available and there are several that are designed as multiple use.  The industry term for such containers is semi-bulk or a package that is in between full bulk and smaller containers such as 25KG or 50 lb. paper bags. Since it’s inception in 1975 Semi-Bulk Systems, Inc. manufactured and sold a proprietary FIBC known as the Air Pallet® Container. The founders of the company named their company Semi-Bulk Systems, Inc. and were also co-founders of the FIBC Committee which continues to be an active organization.

Our company continues to manufacture and supply the Air Pallet® Container as well as systems for filling and unloading them. Although  we do not manufacture standard bulk bags, the filling and unloading of them into our processes is a large portion of our business.
