Manufacturing Manager / Fabrication Supervisor

Wanted for Fenton Mo (St. Louis) manufacturer of stainless steel food processing equipment.  Position reports to current Director of Operations, with advancement potential. Must be a non-smoker.

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Planning and management of fabrication of metal assemblies for time sensitive completion dates
  • Direct employees in all tasks regarding cutting, fit-up & weldments, polishing, surfacing finishing of various  assemblies and sub-assemblies
  • Develop and monitor schedule on multiple projects and standard assemblies and report ongoing status of all material production
  • Provide input for raw materials from detailed drawings take-offs required to maintain uninterrupted production
  • Manage inventory of shop tools and consumables for uninterrupted production as well as scheduling of equipment maintenance by third party vendors
  • Act to promote intra-departmental teamwork by providing support to other departments
  • Maintain, train and update ISO procedures and departmental process improvement goals
  • Implement strategies / methodologies that reduce cost of goods produced, increase efficiencies, & improve processes
  • Track, manage and reconcile WIP inventory of production orders in Fabrication department
  • Support Design Engineering by providing best fabrication practices information as needed
  • Manage department personnel based on company policies and OSHA safety regulations


  • Experience with tig, mig, and orbital welding of stainless steel sanitary process pipe & tube, structural load bearing elements, hoppers/tanks & laser-cut plates
  • Possess welding knowledge of AWS 18.1 standard, and ability to test & monitor employees compliance with same
  • Ability to read, interpret and inspect conformance with standard AWS welding symbols and geometric tolerance call outs
  • Possess knowledge of best practices for polishing and surface finish standards used in food equipment manufacturing
  • Experience in multi-project management and resource management

Experience & Education:

  • Minimum of 5 years as a manufacturing department manager or primary foreman
  • Proven knowledge & experience in current manufacturing methods or techniques
  • Direct responsibility conducting employee performance reviews
  • BS degree Engineering discipline preferred
  • Proficiency in interpreting detailed fabrication and assembly drawings
  • Trained in ISO procedures and work instructions
  • Microsoft Products computer literacy required
